The SW-420 Vibration Sensor is an affordable, non-directional vibration switch module that detects physical shocks and movements. It is commonly used in anti-theft alarms, intelligent robotics, machinery monitoring, and DIY earthquake detectors.
How it Works
- Core Component: The module houses a normally-closed (NC) vibration switch containing a spring and a conductive rod.
- Detection: When the sensor experiences vibrations or sudden movements, the spring momentarily disconnects from the rod.
- Signal Processing: This break is detected by an LM393 voltage comparator chip, which then generates an electrical signal.
Key Specifications & Features
- Operating Voltage: 3.3V to 5V DC
- Output Type: Digital (0 or 1)
- Adjustable Sensitivity: An onboard potentiometer allows you to fine-tune exactly how hard the module needs to be tapped or shaken to trigger the output.
- Onboard LEDs: One LED indicates power, while the other lights up when a vibration is detected.
